Chhahari Founder Christine Casey, U.S. Board Chair Tamara Campbell, and Nepalese Board members Toya and Ranju Niraula had the pleasure of visiting with the Chhahari scholarship children in October, 2024 during the festive holiday season of Dashain. A special celebration for the 41 sponsored students included cake, cookies and other treats. Lots of laughs, namaste's and high fives dominated the afternoon. Tamara and Ranju enjoyed more time with the little ones by joining them on the school bus ride to their homes. It was a rocky and long ride due to the recent floods and washed out roads. At one point the bus driver had to maneuver through a stream. The children cheered when the driver got through it. Many children were eager to practice their English skills and seemed to truly enjoy sharing their names, ages and favorite pastimes. Needless to say, Board members couldn't stop smiling from all the joy and sweetness expressed through their happy faces, cheery dispositions and gracious manners.
