Virtually deaf from a very young age (close to 2) and unable to speak, he can now hear and respond with head shakes to questions requiring yes or no answers. Hear the TV for the first time and many other FIRSTS!!Hopefully the next step is enrolling him in SERC VOCATIONAL SCHOOL in Baluwaater, Kathmandu, where he can learn a trade to prepare him for the job market!Updates: 2nd July 2017: Now Lachu is enrolled to new school (Special Education and Rehabilitation Center) for vocational training from 2nd July 2017. Chhahari provide him scholarship.Needless to say

Last October 2015 at Chhahari’s annual fund raiser, we made an appeal to all those present to donate to Chhahari so that we could help those children and young adults who were seriously injured during the earthquake of April 25,2015 in Nepal. Chhahari is fulfilling its promise!
who suffered serious burns while running during a strong aftershock and falling into a fire pit. Working along with Gyanendra Shrestha of Orthopedica Clinic in Kathmandu, we continue our outreach program to assist those in need.
